The lithium
loop, closed
in India.
Li-Kuang imports lithium-ion cells, battery management systems and allied components from established manufacturers in China, and recovers lithium, cobalt, nickel and copper from batteries at end of life through a greenfield recycling facility under development in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh.
Two ends of one material stream
Every battery Li-Kuang brings into India is a battery Li-Kuang is built to take back out — as recovered material, not landfill.
Import & trading
Direct relationships with lithium-ion cell and BMS manufacturers sourced through Zhengzhou, built through factory visits, technical evaluation and sourcing trips including the China Import and Export Fair.
- Lithium-ion cells across common form factors and chemistries
- Battery management systems (BMS) and protection circuitry
- Allied components for pack assembly and integration
Recycling & recovery
A greenfield lithium-ion recycling facility combining mechanical pre-processing with hydrometallurgical recovery, developed to bring critical minerals back into supply rather than out of the country each time a cell wears out.
- End-of-life collection and mechanical pre-processing
- Hydrometallurgical recovery of Li, Co, Ni and Cu
- Positioned for India's Critical Mineral Recycling Incentive Scheme
The loop
Four stages, one continuous material cycle — the same reason Li-Kuang trades and recycles under a single roof.
Import
Cells, BMS and allied components sourced from qualified manufacturers in China's battery-manufacturing corridor.
Deploy
Supplied into India's growing EV, energy storage and consumer electronics markets through trade and assembly partners.
Collect
Batteries reaching end of life are recovered for processing rather than disposal, in line with Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022.
Recover
Mechanical pre-processing and hydrometallurgy extract lithium, cobalt, nickel and copper — feeding critical minerals back into supply.
Under development
Hapur recycling facility
A greenfield lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh — within the Hapur-Pilkhuwa Development Authority area, roughly an hour from Li-Kuang's Noida base.
The facility is being built around two connected process lines: mechanical pre-processing to safely dismantle and sort spent batteries, and hydrometallurgical recovery to extract critical minerals for return to the supply chain.
| Location | Hapur, Uttar Pradesh |
|---|---|
| Process lines | Mechanical pre-processing + hydrometallurgy |
| CPCB registration | In progress |
| Environmental clearance | SEIAA-UP, in progress |
| Pollution control consent | UPPCB, in progress |
Sourcing network
Built on-site, not over email — factory visits and technical evaluation before any product reaches a shipment.
Cell manufacturers
Direct relationships with lithium-ion cell producers sourced through Zhengzhou, evaluated for chemistry, form factor and quality consistency.
BMS & protection
Battery management systems and protection circuitry sourced alongside cells, so packs arrive matched and integration-ready.
Factory verification
Sourcing trips and factory visits, including at the China Import and Export Fair, ahead of any supply commitment.
Compliance & registration
Recycling operations are being built to the letter of India's battery and environmental regulation, not around it.
